Me and Yoga
A highly-strung kid, I remember being overwhelmed by powerful emotions at a very young age, my parents, being pretty wonderful had me doing all sorts of physical activities like gymnastics, dance, drama, singing and sports, they knew instinctively that I needed to use up my extra energy to better manage my emotions.
As a young adult I became fascinated by the ideas and philosophy of believing and belonging, I began studying and practicing different spiritual traditions and religions, around this time I found yoga and everything fell into place for me, the union of physical expression, emotional awareness and a sense of belonging felt like the perfect way to live, 27 years later it still does.
I’ve been teaching yoga full time since 2008 and have thousands of hours of training and teaching practice, my greatest learning has come from the many varied students I’ve had the pleasure to teach.
My professional experience includes antenatal yoga, kids yoga, the over ’60s, professional sports people and pro dancers, accessible yoga adapted for different people with different needs and thousands of regular students of all ages.
The passion I have today is as powerful as it was when I first found yoga in my teens and through my work as a yoga therapist, I have witnessed the transformational and healing effects of yoga on my clients. It’s a lifelong practice, ever-evolving and changing to meet the needs of our life cycles…….
Setting up a membership site has been a dream of mine for many years, I wanted to build the same student relationships online as I have in person, over the years my students become friends, we learn and grow together and my teaching is often led by the needs of the group I am with. Now I am in my 40s I feel more confident in my body than I ever have before and I know how to adapt the practice to the hormonal changes we all go through in life. I love a strong practice still but I also share with you many of the more subtle, inner arts that yoga and meditation have to offer.
My mission is to empower you with yoga and to share with you all the ways I have made it through the hard times using my yoga techniques.
